Maryland’s Lottery and Gambling Control Agency


The Maryland State Lottery is operated by the State Lottery and Gaming Control Agency. In addition to running the Maryland lottery, the agency operates smaller ancillary operations. As the state’s third largest source of revenue, the State Lottery’s revenues are credited to the State Lottery Fund. This fund supports public health, education, and the environment.

The Public Information Office is another Division that originated from the Public Affairs Department. Before being reorganized in November 2015, the Public Information Office was known as the Communications and Customer Relations Division.

The State Lottery and Gaming control Agency’s Records Officer, who is also the State Archives liaison, develops and implements a records management program. This program is an important element of the agency’s overall transparency initiatives.
